Hamilton's 3rd Annual
Environmental Film and Arts Festival

February 2nd, 2010
Welcome to the 3rd annual ECO Film & Arts Festival.

Year three brings many exciting partnerships and opportunities. We’ve evolved from a 5-day event in April to a year-round festival that screens the top Canadian and international environmental films and showcases works from our own talented filmmakers, photographers and artists.

The festival is a partnership between the arts and environmental communities; working together to increase awareness of environmental issues and inspiring people to do something – big or small – that makes a difference.

This festival exists because so many people – our sponsors, partners in the arts and environment, local schools, colleges, universities, Canadian filmmakers and musicians, labour unions, elected representatives, media partners, tourism boards, government agencies, community leaders and local businesses – all believe that Hamilton is the right place. And now is the right time.

We’re very lucky to be working with so many enthusiastic young people in 2010. Special thanks to Students Bridging Borders for their hard work and dedication in hosting the Student Expo and the screenings at Westdale Secondary School. SBB does remarkable work for environmental and social justice projects, both locally and globally.

Having support from such a diverse group of community members will ensure that we create a festival that leaves an enduring legacy.
