Hamilton's 3rd Annual
Environmental Film and Arts Festival

New for 2010

The 3rd annual ECO Film & Arts Festival has grown from 5 days in its first two years to 13 days of programming in 2010. Year three brings many new initiatives and opportunities for community partnerships, including:

Promoting environmentally-inspired art work
The festival issued its first Call for Submissions, inviting Ontario-based filmmakers, photographers and artists to create environmentally-inspired works that will be featured throughout the festival.

Greening the James Street North Art Crawl
Working in partnership with local arts organizations and galleries, the ECO Film & Arts Festival will “green” the Friday, April 9th James Street North Art Crawl. This eco-inspired celebration of the arts will feature the work of local filmmakers, photographers and artists in various arts venues along James Street North. (link arts venues to festival page)

Partnering with SpecKids Unlimited Charity
The ECO Film & Arts Festival welcomes the Hamilton Spectator as a 2010 media and community partner. A portion of the ticket proceeds from the April 7th Opening Night Photography Exhibit and Awards Ceremony at the Art Gallery of Hamilton Pavilion will benefit the SpecKids Unlimited Charity.

Co-Presenting with Students Bridging Borders, a Westdale Secondary School-based NGO
The ECO Film & Arts Festival welcomes Students Bridging Borders as a co-presenter of the 2010 festival. SBB will host the April 10th ECO Expo and 7 nights of environmental film screenings at Westdale Secondary School.

Co-Presenting with The Factory: Hamilton Media Arts Centre
The Factory is presenting Alanis Obomsawin: A People's Voice and Vision in partnership with the Art Gallery of Hamilton on Saturday, April 17th.
