Hamilton's 3rd Annual
Environmental Film and Arts Festival

GET INVOLVED!
We’re looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers who have a passion for the arts and the environment.

Secondary school students can use this volunteer experience towards their 40 hours of community service. Volunteering for the festival is an excellent way to gain practical skills and to make valuable contacts within the community.

VOLUNTEER ROLES
While most of our volunteers will be needed for our largest festival in April 2010, there are additional volunteer opportunities available throughout the year on an “as needed” basis.

STUDENT EXPO TEAM
SET members are responsible for all tasks done on Saturday, April 10, 2010 for the Student Expo at Westdale Secondary School. SET is in charge of all logistical details and guest relations to ensure that the event runs smoothly and that all members of the community feel welcome. SET members greet and direct guests, set up tables and displays, post signage and provide information about what is happening throughout the Student Expo.

TEAM LEADERS
Team leaders supervise the SET members. Team leaders work closely with festival volunteers and staff to ensure an organized and fun volunteer experience.

FESTIVAL AMBASSADORS
Festival ambassadors have a visible presence at each of the venues, welcoming and engaging with our guests. Their roles include greeting guests at screenings and events, ushering in some venues and providing information on festival activities.

MARKETING AND PROMOTION TEAM
The marketing and promotion team helps promote the festival throughout the community. Their roles include informing community members about upcoming festival events and distributing posters in key neighbourhoods, including: James Street North, Westdale, Locke Street, Concession Street and Dundas.

SPONSORSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM
The sponsorship and development team liaises with local businesses and merchants to acquire donated items for the festival.

YEAR ROUND VOLUNTEERS
Several months of behind the scenes work go into planning and promoting the year round events and festivals that comprise the ECO Film & Arts Festival.

Tasks for year round volunteers vary. Volunteers will be informed of current opportunities through our website and our Facebook page.

Please contact us and let us know which position interests you and your availability.

Inform us of any specific skills, interests or previous experience.
